Agatha Christie : site-specific HoloLens installation

Elephants Can Remember - Scene One - HoloLens Edition

This site specific Mixed Reality artwork has evolved into a touring installation after strong reviews at its Port Eliot Festival premier in July.

Recently discovered archive from 1972 of Agatha Christie reading from her Poirot novel is brought to life in an incredible setting, aided by holographic cues for plot points and character dialogue.

Set in a period bedroom, the scene is an exchange between Mrs Oliver and her maid Maria while choosing her headwear for the day. As a fascinating extra detail, each of the featured hats are bespoke 3D models of hats provided by Stephen Jones Millinery.

Following its premier at Port Eliot Festival the work is scheduled to tour events in the UK, US and the East.

An incredible achievement of the work is in providing a genuine, almost tangible, personal connection with the author. As such invitations can only be accepted from events able to closely reproduce this intimacy, by way of physical props, set dressing, location intimacy and experienced audience management.

'Elephants Can Remember - Scene One - HoloLens Edition' was funded by Arts Council England as a collaboration with Agatha Christie Limited. Developed by Films@59 with 3D by Pixelised, as a Play Nicely production.

Next steps include a series of works that explore the considered use of digital arts in collaboration with cultural organisations and more traditional art forms. Please get in touch with Scott for further details.
